PAST PROJECTS
Resource Library and Book Distribution Center
The CRASH Collective gathered books, films and zines relating to social and ecological issues and built a community lending library located on Intervale Avenue. We became a distributor of AKPress books to sell radical and scholarly books, which we sold from our library and at public events.
Burlington Eco-Hood
Members of the CRASH Collective facilitated dialogue in the Old North End neighborhood around Decatur and Crombie Streets. We hosted neighborhood potlucks that served as brainstorming sessions for ways to foster a greater sense of neighborliness and incorporate ecological design on this block. Several outcomes of this project are the construction of 4 backyard composting operations, a community garden, Decatur Fest block party, a community message board and a 50+ person listserve for easy communication between neighbors.
Eco-Design Workshop Series
Members of the CRASH Collective organized an ongoing series of educational, hands-on workshops about ecological design. Topics included the principles of ecological design in an urban residential area, building solar ovens and lawn-to-garden conversions.
