ideas and projects springing out of the human connections made in this physical space
groups of people meeting and planning and educating

planning new ways of resisting capitalism, war, militarism, oppression, environmental destruction, prisons, mind-numbing schools, corporate agriculture

organizing to support our community and meet our basic needs
building new local food systems, housing systems, ecological design initiatives,
mental and physical health care systems, promoting bike culture,
building cooperative businesses and energy systems,
new community accountability structures. 

working collectively and actively participating in making decisions that effect our lives and our community
experimenting with alternative systems of accountability and decision making
learning how to make decisions and accomplish tasks as a group. 

demonstrating that it is possible to work together

giving space to existing groups and new groups    
being an alternative to existing modes of organizing for social change in Vermont

We are making this vision a reality 

Initially, this space will hold a reading room with a lending library, AK Press and Crimethinc distribution center, and free simple food and coffee a media office with a free computer lab, film and photo editing software and a zine photocopier  a large free community space for local groups to use at no cost for meetings, discussion groups, films, speakers and workshops. a basement with a bike tool share and a bulk food buyers club

Already, the following community groups have expressed interest in using the space: the Owl Party, Burlington Permaculture, the Vermont Peace Economy Coalition, Food Not Bombs, Students for Peace and Global Justice, Iraq Veterans Against War, and the Will Miller Lecture Series.
